FCB Athlete of the Week: 08/14 | Logan Fawcett
Presented by First Community Bank
WETUMPKA, ALA. - Wetumpka's senior catcher has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for Aug. 14-20.
The senior represented Wetumpka Baseball at the AHSAA North/South All-Star Game at Riverwalk Stadium in July.
"To be able to step onto the field, knowing I was representing my hometown was an incredible honor," Fawcett said. "I wanted to make everyone in Wetumpka proud and show what we are all about."
Fawcett represented Wetumpka well during the double-header matchup. In game one, Fawcett went 2-for-2 and notched an RBI after entering the game as a pinch hitter, helping the South team deliver a commanding 16-6 win.
Fawcett received the start during the second game, where he again found his way on base. Fawcett went 1-for-3 at the plate and recorded a run in the final matchup of the evening, a 7-7 game that ended in a tie. The senior delivered 3 hits, an RBI, and a run scored across the two games.
Head Coach Russ Brooks praised Fawcett's work ethic.
"When you think about Wetumpka baseball, you think about Logan Fawcett," said Brooks. "He does tons of work. He knows what he wants. He knows how to get after it."
Fawcett is committed to playing baseball at Gadsden State following his senior season.
Brooks and Fawcett will prepare for the 2026 Wetumpka baseball season, which will begin in February.
