Presented by First Community Bank
WETUMPKA, ALA. - Sophmore foward/center Kaleb Ballard has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for the week of December 1.
Ballard put together an impressive two game streak with Mens' Basketball last week during the Pelham Turkey Tipoff Tournament.
The team went 2-1 over the course of the tournament, dropping their first game of the tournament to the hosts in Pelham High School.
Ballards' absence was missed in the 77-45 as he took a trip of his own to a recruitment visit.
In Ballard's return from the visit, the Indians won the second game of their stay in Pelham with a 57-53 victory over Prattville, whom the Indians lost to on Nov. 18.
Ballard grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds against the Lions, and added 18 points, 4 blocks, an assist and a steal in an impressive double-double showing.
The following day, the Indians faced off against Montgomery Catholic in a 68-50 win, a game in which Ballard charted new career highs.
The 6'5" sophomore scored a jaw-dropping 32 points on a highly efficient 78% from the field, a new career high for the Coosa Central transfer. He added another 26 rebounds in that contest, with another double-double in back-to-back games. Ballard's box score rounded out with 4 blocks and two steals.
